This tutorial about using masks driven by a secondary UV pack to blend in some localized dirt and grime to your assets.


This workflow is particularly handy when you are using trim sheets and cannot add that dirt/ grime/ moss or whatever else you desire as you would be able to 
add with a unique asset.


It is also a handy way to unify assets in an environment by sharing these same dirt/grime/ moss textures across multiple assets using the same master material.

I have provided a similar bus asset to one in the cover image, along with the main textures used and some dirt materials so that you 
can try out this workflow for yourself and use the bus as you see fit.

The main idea is for people to learn from this and experiment with their own projects.



Part 1 is how to bring the provided mesh into UE4 and set up a basic master material with the blend masks.



Part 2 is how to do a secondary UV pack in Blender and export a mesh that we can use to create the masks in Substance Painter



Part 3 will go over setting up in Substance Painter and creating/ exporting your masks in a channel packed texture.
